MTB days from the Pyrenees to La Garrotxa tour

 MTB Team frank per webblog

This customized tour went through a multilple playgrounds across Catalonia from the Pyrenees summits starting at 2070mts altitude (6800 feet) and ending inlands of Girona at 400 mts above the sea level (1300 feet). The riders: Frank, John K., Dave, Paul and John M. from North America. The guides: Alexis and Jordi

They had the opportunity to discover the La Cerdanya valley (Pyrenees), going from 2000mts above the sea level down to 1000mts. The last section in this descent flowed in one of the most ancient fir forests in Pyrenees. The second half was a soft up and down single track that followed the Segre river line, and passed by Romanesque churches dating from the XII century.

The second stage happened in Lluçanès region and in the afternoon, we’ve prepared a relaxed track with a cultural visit at Lluçà monastery in the middle of the ride in a very nice itinerary in a quiet piece of nature decorated with oak tree forests and red pines.

Finally the amazing volcanic area in La Garrotxa, with the main visit on Day 3 during the lunch break at a place that despite modern restorations, this old village of Santa Pau conserves its authentic medieval street plan since the main street has remained unaltered for many centuries.

The icing on the cake was the last lunch at Les Cols Restaurant, that's been awarded with 2 Michelin Stars.
